STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP IN AVIATION

STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP IN AVIATION

STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP IN AVIAITON

Airport Management and Operations

VISION • VALUES • VICTORY

Aviation is one of the world’s most complex and volatile industries. Leaders must make decisions across business models, networks, fleet, costs, revenue, partnerships, people, technology and risk—often while responding to conditions they cannot control. GAME-104 develops an executive perspective on how strategic decisions shape airline competitiveness and long-term sustainability.

The course moves beyond conventional leadership theory into the realities of aviation management. Participants examine airline business models, strategic performance, global alliances, crisis response, restructuring, digital transformation and executive decision-making through industry cases and practical scenarios. The course concludes with a five-year strategic response plan, giving participants an opportunity to apply strategic thinking to a realistic airline challenge.

Why Take GAME-104?

  • Executive-Level Strategic Thinking: Understand how aviation leaders evaluate markets, business models, competitive positioning and organizational performance before making high-impact decisions.

  • Airline Business & Performance Insight: Learn how indicators such as CASK, RASK, load factor and revenue performance help leaders understand the economic health and competitive position of an airline.

  • Crisis & Resilience Leadership: Explore how aviation leaders respond to fuel shocks, pandemics, geopolitical disruption, airspace closures, financial distress and operational uncertainty. Current industry conditions demonstrate why resilience and strategic flexibility are critical leadership capabilities.

  • Strategic Partnership & Network Decisions: Understand the strategic importance of alliances, codeshares, joint ventures, mergers and cross-border partnerships in building global connectivity and competitive advantage.

  • Transformation & Future Readiness: Examine how leaders manage digital transformation, data, AI, organizational change and new operating models while maintaining commercial and operational performance. ICAO’s current strategic plan also places digital transformation and resilience at the center of future aviation development.
